Our process: from quote to installation

Thank you for considering us for your windows and doors. We understand that replacing windows or doors is an important decision, so our aim is to make the process clear, straightforward and well managed from start to finish.

Below is what you can expect if you choose to proceed with your quotation.

1. Initial quotation

We will prepare an initial quotation based on the information available at the time. This may include measurements, photographs, your preferred products, styles, colours, glass options and any specific requirements discussed with us.

Your quotation will usually include:

  • The products being supplied
  • The proposed style and specification
  • The installation address
  • The total quoted amount
  • What is included
  • Any important exclusions
  • The deposit required to proceed
  • An estimated lead time

At this stage, the quotation is based on the details provided and is subject to a technical survey before any products are manufactured.

2. Accepting your quote

If you are happy with the quotation and would like to proceed, you can confirm acceptance in writing by email, message, signed form, or another agreed method.

Once accepted, we will confirm the next steps with you, including payment of the deposit and arrangements for your technical survey.

Accepting the quotation allows us to move your order to the next stage. The final product specification will still need to be confirmed following the technical survey.

3. Deposit payment

A deposit is required before we arrange the technical survey and begin processing your order.

The deposit secures your place in our schedule and allows us to start the next stage of the process. The remaining balance will usually be payable on completion of the installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Please note that windows and doors are made-to-measure products. Once the final specification has been confirmed and the order has been placed with the supplier or manufacturer, changes may not always be possible and cancellation rights may be affected.

4. Technical survey

After the deposit has been received, we will arrange a technical survey at your property.

The survey allows us to confirm the details needed before manufacture, helping to ensure your products are made correctly and that the installation can be properly planned.

The survey may include checking:

  • Accurate measurements
  • Opening styles and layouts
  • Frame colours
  • Glass requirements
  • Handle and hardware choices
  • Door designs
  • Threshold options
  • Trickle vents
  • Safety glass requirements
  • Access arrangements
  • Parking and working space
  • Internal and external finishes
  • Any potential installation issues

The technical survey is an important step because it confirms the final details before your order is placed.

5. Final specification confirmation

Following the technical survey, we will confirm the final specification for your order.

This may include updated measurements, drawings, product details, glass types, colours, hardware, door furniture, trims, cills, thresholds and any other agreed options.

If the survey identifies any changes to the original quotation, we will discuss these with you before proceeding. Any change to the quote, design or specification will be confirmed in writing.

We will not place the final product order until the specification has been confirmed.

6. Order placed with supplier or manufacturer

Once the final specification has been agreed, your products will be ordered from the relevant supplier or manufacturer.

At this stage, your windows and/or doors will usually be manufactured specifically for your property. Because they are made to measure, it may not be possible to change the order once it has entered production.

We will keep you updated as your order progresses and will let you know once we have an expected delivery or installation timeframe.

7. Installation date arranged

When we have confirmation of product availability, we will contact you to arrange an installation date.

We will confirm:

  • The planned installation date
  • The expected duration of the work
  • Approximate arrival arrangements
  • Any access requirements
  • Anything you need to do before we arrive

Before installation, we ask that you clear the areas around the windows and doors where possible. Curtains, blinds, ornaments, furniture and personal items should be moved away from the working area unless we have agreed otherwise.

8. Installation

On the day of installation, our installer will remove the existing windows and/or doors and fit the new products in line with the agreed specification.

The work will usually include:

  • Removal of existing products
  • Installation of the new windows and/or doors
  • Fitting of trims, cills and finishing materials where required
  • Internal and external sealing
  • Removal of old frames and general installation waste
  • Basic clean-up of the working area

We aim to complete all work safely, professionally and with as little disruption as reasonably possible.

9. Completion and customer sign-off

Once the installation is complete, we will ask you to review the work with us.

At this stage, we will check that the agreed products have been installed and identify whether there are any outstanding items or snagging points that need attention.

If any minor issues remain, these will be recorded and arranged for follow-up. We will always aim to resolve genuine installation concerns as quickly and fairly as possible.

10. Final balance

The remaining balance is normally due on completion of the installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Your final invoice will show:

  • The total agreed quote
  • Any deposit already paid
  • The remaining balance
  • Payment details
  • The job or quote reference

Payment should be made in accordance with the agreed terms.

11. Registration, guarantee and aftercare

Where applicable, your installation will be registered under the relevant competent person scheme, such as Certass or FENSA, depending on the type of work and our registration arrangements.

After completion, you will receive or be provided with the relevant documents, which may include:

  • Product or installation guarantee
  • Insurance-backed guarantee, where applicable
  • Building Regulations compliance certificate, where applicable
  • Care and maintenance guidance
  • Aftercare contact details

Some certificates and insurance-backed guarantees may be issued separately after the installation has been completed and registered.

12. Aftercare support

We want you to feel confident after your installation is complete. If you have any questions after the work has been carried out, or if something does not seem right, please contact us so we can advise or arrange a follow-up where needed.

Our aim is to provide a smooth process, clear communication and a finished installation you are happy with.
